LS, RS adjourned till 1400 IST

The Lok Sabha was adjourned twice today, the second time till 1400 IST on the question of propriety and proper functioning of the House.

The House conducted some business after it reassembled after the first adjournment over the Bihar issue.

But Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav persisted with his demand for a discussion on the RSS issue, and his party members rushed to the well of the House. Members from the treasury benches especially Madan Lal Khurana and Vijay Goel protested against them for stalling the proceedings.

The two Bharatiya Janata Party leaders said that an all-party meeting had decided that members should not rush to the well of the House.

When the SP members continued to raise their demand, Speaker G M C Balayogi adjourned the House till 1400 IST describing the situation as very sad.

Earlier, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha were adjourned over the Bihar issue with the Opposition demanding an immediate discussion. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1200 IST while the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 1400 IST.
