6 Sena MLAs suspended from Maharashtra assembly for 1 year

Twelve Shiv Sena MLAs were suspended from the Maharashtra assembly for one year and six months respectively after they damaged the speaker's chair and microphones on Tuesday.

Shiv Charan Patil, Anil Rathod, Subhash Wankhede, Ashok Shinde, Subhash Sabne and Suresh Saluke were suspended for one year from the House while Kalyanrao Patil, Gulabrao Patil, Sitaram Bohir, Dilip Bholey and Ravindra Mane were suspended for six months.

They were suspended for their behaviour in the chaos over Sena supremo Bal Thackeray's appearance in court on Tuesday.

The assembly is unlikely to meet on Wednesday because the microphones in the House have been badly damaged.
