Message: One of the most towering figures of the Indian musical landscape has passed. The last time I saw him was at a concert in Hyderabad where he was supposed to play with his son, Zakir who for some reason could not turn up for the occasion. Sensing the audience's disappointment at his absence, Ustad Alla Rakha said," I shall prove that I am Zakir's "baap." May his soul rest in peace. Also, my condolences to their family; losing two members within hours of each other is shocking and traumatic. My prayers are with the family.
