DD vehicle ambushed, 2 killed

Two persons, including one employee of Doordarshan, were killed and three others injured when their vehicle was ambushed by militants in Batmallo area of Srinagar.

Two of the injured, whose condition is stated to be critical, are also DD employees. The director of DD, Srinagar Ashraf Sahil said the ambushed vehicle was carrying DD employees home after the day's work. One policeman escorting the DD staff was also killed.

Senior police officers have rushed to the spot and a combing operation has been launched.
