Former Maharashtra minister Patrawala dead

Newly-elected Congress MLA and noted Supreme Court lawyer Marzaban Patrawala died following a massive cardiac arrest in Bombay this morning.

He was 52. He leaves behind wife Dinaz and a teenaged son.

Patrawala, who had won the prestigious Colaba assembly segment of the Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency, died after a massive heart attack at his residence in Khusro Baug at Colaba, family sources said.

At 1000 hours today, he attended a meeting of the Parsi Panchayat and when he reached home an hour later he complained of uneasiness and chest pain. Soon after, he suffered a massive cardiac arrest. Doctors on arrival pronounced him dead.

His mortal remains will be taken to the Tower of Silence later in the evening, family sources said.
