Five SOG personnel killed in Srinagar

Heavy fighting between militants holed up inside the Special Operations Group headquarters in Srinagar and army commandos continued for the second day today. Commandos are using mortars and firing from automatic weapons.

A senior police officer confirmed that militants have already gunned down five SOG personnel, including a deputy superintendent and an assistant inspector. Seventeen others have been injured.
