J&K militants attack counter-insurgency hq in Srinagar

One police official was killed and many injured when Kashmir separatists launched a sudden attack on the headquarters of the Indian Police's counter-insurgency wing in Srinagar.

Sources said the militants attacked the hq of the Special Operations Group at around 5 pm.

When news came in last, the two sides were engaged in a pitched battle. Further details are awaited.
