PM to launch Bihar poll campaign on Dec 24

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will address a "Nav nirman rally" in Patna on December 24 to launch the Bharatiya Janata Party's election campaign for the coming Bihar assembly election.

State party president Nand Kishore Yadav said the rally would be held following a two-week-long "Jungle raj hatao yatra", which would go round the state from December 11.

He said during the rally the party would announce its blueprint to make a "new Bihar" and to end the "jungle raj" in the state.

Other senior leaders of the party would also attend the rally, but he did not confirm whether the leaders of the Janata Dal-United, the BJP's electoral ally, would be invited.
