Shenoy is always good value for time. His mellow outlook on current events and insights into political trends are invaluable for someone looking at the mela -- or should I say tamasha? -- in Delhi. May his words continue to inform and entertain. Ravi

It is true the BJP must bid farewell to power for sometime to come as and when this government falls. The assembly election has proved that it has bungled completely. These so called swadeshi protagonists aren't helping much by opposing the insurance bill. They have embarrassed the government, which now has the credit of going back on everything that it announced with much fanfare. Since the BJP came to power it has also lost its most vocal support base, the urban middle class due to its bickering either with its allies or the swadeshi guys, and has showed that it cannot be expected to push through the reforms. It is really a tragedy that a great man like Vajpayee who had such a distinguished career should see his image sullied at the end of it. I think he should become tough and threaten the guys who oppose him inside his party with resignation. The BJP knows there is nobody else who commands as much respect as Vajpayee. But I think it is too much to ask. Well, it is back to the Congress. Sad but true. I just hope if and when the Congress comes to power Sonia doesn't become the PM but appoints someone else like Manmohan Singh. Karthik

All politicians and their friends have one goal: To loot the country.

The hard decisions which the BJP took neglecting common man's problems have put them out of touch with the masses. Let's not go back to the 19th century but enter the 21st.

A very balanced criticism that separates the water from the milk. |
