Buta calls Jaya's demand 'meaningless'Union Communications Minister Buta Singh has termed as 'meaningless', the demand from All India Anna Dravida Munetra Kazhagam general secretary J Jayalalitha about the removal of three Union ministers against whom cases of corruption are pending in various courts. Talking to the media in Ajmer last evening, Buta Singh, who had won the Jalore (scheduled caste) Lok Sabha seat as an independent in the recent elections, also categorically ruled out the possibility of tendering his resignation from the Union Cabinet. Singh said some people were out to make an issue against him, unnecessarily, out of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha bribery case. He said any demand for his resignation from the Cabinet on this ground was meaningless. Singh also announced that he would float a regional party to field candidates in the next Rajasthan assembly elections. He reiterated that he would not rejoin the Congress. However, he possessed the Congress culture and would abide by the Congress ideology all his life, Singh added. UNI
