Did the Nargis Fakhri and Freida Pinto episode make for R-rated viewing?

They work in film industries that are very different from each other, and yet there's a common thread that binds them.

While Freida Pinto left the familiar world of Mumbai behind for Hollywood after Slumdog Millionaire struck gold, New Yorker Nargis Fakhri's longtime dream of travelling the world brought her to India as a model-turned-actress.

And it was a riot when the two came together on Karan Johar's show last Sunday.

While it may not exactly qualify as R-rated for some, it was content that the Moral Police work so diligently to protect viewers from.

So what was so outrageous about this episode that required a late night screening, instead of the regular 9 pm slot?

The show began with generic greetings that could double up as sexual innuendo.

'Thank you for having me while I was coming,' Nargis said coyly while Karan sniggered.

The host veered the conversation towards Nargis's 'interesting' surname, and the Rockstar actress instead offered up a story about her first name.

Nargis, when spelled out quickly, can sound like 'Nargas' and that word apparently means butt cheeks in Spanish, the actress, who has Hispanic friends back in New York, told Karan.

Never one to be upstaged, Freida offered a confession. Her last name, she said, means little p***s in Portuguese. Wonder what Papa and Mama Pinto in suburban Mumbai watching their daughter on KWK thought of that.

As Isabella, the exotic new girl at the club, she is seen in little else than lingerie and teensy leather gear, slithering down a pole.

When Freida alluded to her being somewhat ill-equipped in the curves department, which was why no one wanted her as a model or actress in India way before Danny Boyle's flick made her famous, Fakhri suggested that Pinto try silicone implants.

'Use those flappy silicone ones that can be thrown away later,' Fakri felt. Gosh, we hadn't even heard of those.
