How Aishwarya Rai celebrated Karva Chauth

Abhishek Bachchan, who is currently shooting for Umesh Shukla's upcoming film Mere Apne in Bangkok, celebrated Karva Chauth with his wife Aishwarya over Skype.

‘My 1st Karwa Chawth away from the Mrs. Thank god for Facetime!’ Abhishek tweeted.

Amitabh Bachchan added: ‘Abhishek out of country on shoot .. so face of husband seen through Skype, for Karvachauth by Aishwarya .. what times we live in !!’

He later wrote: 'Karvachauth' over ... moon sighted, prayers done through the sieve, food eaten and water drunk by the wives ..dressed in fineries ! The culture and the traditions of time .. tested and performed diligently .. for what ? for the benefit and longevity of another !!’

Deepika Padukone: Priyanka Chopra looks beautiful

While there are reports of Priyanka Chopra having a cat-fight with her Krrish 3 co-star Kangna Ranaut, Deepika Padukone has no issues with her.

The Ram-Leela actress turned to Twitter to shower praises on Chopra’s item song in the film and tweeted: ‘you look beautiful... thank you for doing Ram Chahe Leela.’

Priyanka was quick to reply: ‘I'm glad I could babe.. Can't wait to see the film.’

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film also stars Ranveer Singh and will release on November 15.

'Is Karva Chauth latent perpetuation of an unequal world?'

While some actresses in Bollywood observed a fast for their husbands, there were others who didn’t.

Gul Panag tweeted: ‘So #karwachauth debate has started on my TL. First strike @seemagoswami (I'm not a neutral party-since being a non believer I'm feasting:p) Is #karwachauth latent perpetuation of an unequal world? Of patriarchy? Or is it love, devotion, feeling, emotion (as #Enigma says)?’

Raveena Tandon, on the other hand, celebrated the festival traditionally. ‘Did my aarti with my husband and kids,all 3 had a sip of water first and then gave me a sip and a bite to eat..and then we celebrated,its not only for the well being of ur husband..but for the well being of ur happiness and family.. Wonder why some women finding this inferior..maybe they're too used to Valentines day!! Hahhahahaha’ she wrote.

Satya 2 postponed to November 8

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has postponed the release of his film Satya 2, as he has dissociated himself with one of the co-producers. The film will now release on November 8.

‘Due to issues of an issue of L R active's Arun Sharma we were strongly advised to disaccociate from him..so am postponing release of Satya 2,’ he tweeted.

‘After disaccoiating with all L R Active Arun Sharma related issues Satya 2 will now release on November 8th instead of october 25th,’ he added.
