Bollywood pays tribute to Feroz Khan

Bollywood arrived in full strength to pay tribute to the late Feroz Khan, who passed away on April 27. A prayer service was held at Mumbai's J W Marriott last evening, where the holy Quran was recited. Several film personalities gave warm speeches in memory of the stylish actor.

Fardeen Khan, sister Laila Khan and mother Sundari thanked all those who came for the service.

Hrithik Roshan, who is related to Khan by marriage -- wife Suzanne is Feroz Khan's brother Sanjay Khan's daughter -- arrived at the prayer service. Suzanne's brother Zayed was also present.

Sanjay Dutt and wife Manyata were accompanied by Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh. Dutt spoke lovingly of his Yalgaar co-star, who interestingly, also starred in a film with Dutt's mother Nargis when she was pregnant with Sanjay.

Vidya Balan and Urmila Matondkar may not have done a film with Feroz Khan but they made sure to be present at the prayer service. Urmila starred with Feroz's son Fardeen in the well-reviewed Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.

Feroz Khan had done one of his earliest films Kala Sona (1975) with Prem Chopra and Danny Denzongpa. Khan went on to do five films with Chopra and six with Danny.

Unlike most present at the prayer service, who wore white, Tabu chose a black kurta and blue jeans while Amisha Patel chose blue.

Priya Dutt decided to leave her family troubles aside, and show up at the prayer service, attended by her brother Sanjay. Husband Owen Roncom accompanied her.

Directors Karan Johar and Anees Bazme paid their last respects to Feroz Khan. Bazme had directed Khan's last film, Welcome (2007), which went on to become a huge blockbuster.
