Anushka Sharma has proved she has the business acumen as well as the nerve to produce a film that steps out of the mainstream.
After the gory NH-10, her second production, Phillauri, looks like a sweet romance gone wrong.
The trailer, set in today's times, tells a story of a ghost, played by Anushka.
It has quite a few ha-ha moments, but you also know it will not end up like Amitabh Bachchan's Bhootnath, thanks to the romance angle.
Anushka 'accidentally' gets married to a youngster (played by Life Of Pi's Suraj Sharma), who's getting ready for his wedding... to someone else.
There's a flashback tale: Phillauri has a love story like Mirzya-Saheba, with Diljit Dosanjh as the love of her life.
The film's title comes from Diljit's character called Phillauri, who is a singer and lyricist. He probably resides in a town called Phillaur near Jalandhar.
He bids goodbye to Anushka and is not seen again.
What happens to this doomed couple?
How does Anushka turn into a ghost who lives in a tree?
These questions haunt you, just like Anushka haunts the characters in the film.
Phillauri will release on March 24.
