Parichaya disappoints

With the huge success of the songs by Jassie Gift, the Kannada film Parichaya was one of the most awaited films in recent times.

Yes, the film stands out for its trendy music and the fantastic cinematographic work of P K H Doss. But the film's director Sanjay, who earlier directed Hudugaata has erred in writing a credible script.

The film has borrowed a lot of elements from the Hollywood film Serendipity which has been remade in several Indian languages. Not only the story but the narration too is tedious.

The story revolves around Jayanth and Nimmy who are in constant search of each other. They miss meeting each other many times, even though they are very close. Only this one particular element is there throughout the film making it predictable without any suspense or thrilling moment.

Tarun is good in songs and dances but is expressionless in the emotional scenes. The dubbing work done by actor Dileep Raj does not suit his body language. Rekha should never weep like this in any film! Her new look is attractive, but she is still to attain a maturity in her performance. Avinash and Shobharaj provide some relief with their dialogues particularly Avinash who imitates a well known film director. Other artists are just passable.

Nadedaaduva Kaamanabille, Jigi Jigi Jigidhu and Kudinotave songs are top class but the editing is jarring.

Parichaya disappoints because of the lack of an interesting story line and good narration.
