The opening credits of Dabangg 2 itself make you feel excited about watching the film. And why wouldn't they? They are really well designed.
The film is all about one man, Salman Khan. Yes, he rocks as Chulbul Pandey once again.
Sonakshi Sinha has a very small role in the film but she looks pretty and shares a very cute marital relationship with Salman. Vinod Khanna is nice; Prakash Raj is effective, while Deepak Dobriyal and Niketan Dheer are okay.
The story lacks depth. There aren't too many scenes with Salman and Prakash Raj together.
The music is also not up to the mark as the previous film, but full marks to Arbaaz Khan for the direction. The action sequences are brilliant. The film has all elements of a masala flick.
Overall, I have to say that Dabangg (2010) is better than Dabangg 2 in all aspect, but this 1 hour 56 minute masala flick will still entertain you for sure. It's a nice film to watch with the year coming to an end.
Final verdict: Watch Dabangg 2 only for Salman Khan.

'The new film should have been named Dabangg Reloaded'

Will Dabangg 2 be a good or bad carbon copy of the original? That was the only question in my mind when I went to see Dabangg 2.
So let's try to catch up with the "change" (and not story, mind you) from the Dabangg of 2010.
Well, there is nothing much.
Chulbul Pandey has been transferred to Kanpur, has got a new nickname "Kung-fu Pandey", the tumultuous relationship with his father is no longer there, and he has a new opponent in Prakash Raj.
That sums up the 'hatke portion' of Dabangg 2. Everything else remains the same: his caterpillar moustache the aviators that hangs on the back shoulder, the mandatory songs and the punch lines (only this time, it is less effective).
Helming a movie sequel is one of the toughest jobs, but the director in Arbaaz Khan, it seems, has taken the easy route by using the Copy Paste option from the original 'Dabangg' and by giving total freedom to his "Song Directors and Action Directors" (yes, its there in the opening credits of the movie).The cinematography captures the essence of the movie quite admirably, but the songs by Sajid –Wajid is a major letdown with its "recycled" feel.
Its Salman and Salman all the way, when it come to performances. He just picks up from where he left off in the 2010 version and is still in top form as Chulbul Pandey. It is only because of his charisma and star power that the movie is a one-time watch at least.
Sonakshi Sinha and Prakash Raj continue with their desi-girl and desi-villian act respectively. The only other actors who impress are Vinod Khanna and Deepak Dobriyal. The remaining ones just pass muster.
In short, Dabangg 2 is yet another "hit machine" in the making for Salman, but it seems like the movie should have been renamed "Dabangg Remade" or "Dabangg Reloaded" and not Dabangg 2.

The much hyped Dabaang 2 did not meet its expectations at all. It was dud kind of a movie, which never took off.
Very poor story coupled with bad screenplay, poor songs, excessive fights, unfunny comedy, absolutely no role for other characters except for the Hero.
One can surely say Bollywood registers its first major flop of 2012.
