Game Changer Trailer: Ram Charan's One Man Show

When the makers of Game Changer released a slew of VFX-heavy posters, the over the top quality of the material was alarming. But the trailer proves to be a -- um, game changer -- for the film.

Starring Ram Charan post his RRR glory, the trailer introduces the actor as a 'Global Star'. We see Ram Charan in various avatars: College student, police officer, IAS officer, political leader, farmer.

The brawny hero fights corruption which puts him in conflict with a CM played by SJ Suryah of Spyder fame.

Kiara is barely visible in the trailer. But this is a Shankar film, so there's hope the heroine will have a scene or two to leave a mark. Think of Sadha in Anniyan (Aparichit) or Aishwarya Rai in Enthiran (Robot) or Amy Jackson in I, their characters shone despite the glamorous edge.

The trailer promises a blast of zany energy and dramatic moments to make this star vehicle land. All the classic Shankar touches are visible: Grand sets, scale, visual effects, and frames filled with people that highlight the massy pull.

The story seems to follow the same template of the hero taking on a corrupt political system, as seen in Shankar's earlier hits: Indian, Mudhalvan (remade in Hindi as Nayak) and the Rajinikanth starrer Shivaji.

Celebrated Tamil Director Karthik Subbaraj (Jigarthanda, Iraivi, Petta) has written this story.

If the trailer is anything to go by, we are in for a vintage Shankar directorial treat for that hooting and cheering theatre experience. The film arrives in cinemas on January 10.
