Rakesh Roshan's tryst with reincarnation turned out to be an all out moneyspinner. A bunch of scheming Thakurs murder a devoted mother's two sons -- Karan and Arjun (Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan). As per Mom's staunch belief, her two betas will make a come back some twenty years later. And when they do, it will be payback time for Thakur and his clan.

The unabashed masala and over-the-top entertainment appeal of Karan Arjun was lapped up more-than-happily by the audience. Too bad, Roshan's next Koyla was a damp squib.
