'KKHH was raw. K3G is rich'
1998: "I'm a little scared -- KKHH is my first film."
2001: "I am in a megatizzy."
Director
Understandbly so, after the blockbuster
With the release of K3G just around the corner, December 14, to be precise, Karan is jittery as hell.
In conversation with Are you nervous? Yes, I am! You can say I am in a megatizzy. My hair has become grey the black is thanks to the colour dye. Is the film about the father-son relationship? Yes. At a certain age, boys are very demonstrative about their love towards their fathers. They hug and kiss them. But after that, they withdraw, become less demonstrative. My film is about relationships, about sons going up to their fathers and saying they love them. How have people, who have seen K3G reacted? Well, I am flooded with SMS calls and congratulatory notes. How was it directing so many superstars? Were there any ego clashes on the sets? Not at all. There was nothing of this so called friction between Shah Rukh and Hrithik. In fact, Hrithik looks up to Shah Rukh as his elder brother. He looked forward to inputs for scenes from Shah Rukh. Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan were professionalism personified. People have great expectations from this film because of this great star cast. How do you react to this? I am looking for audience approval. People who love a good cry will come to see my movie. But then, I also know that there are people who will be waiting to rip apart my film. You hit the jackpot with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Do you expect the same with K3G? KKHH was a raw emotional film. K3G is rich in sheen, polish and emotions. Lets wait and watch.
