Dilip KumarFor the first time in the last four days, Dilip Kumar's wife Saira Banu was seen smiling.

The Thespian is steadily recovering in Mumbai's Lilavati hospital, and there’s a surge of relief and joy among his near and dear ones.

Says their close friend, journalist Udaya Tara Nayar, “Dilipsaab is recovering fast. His pulse is much more regular and he’s also eating. Today, he was smiling and speaking to people close to him. We took a picture of him from his hospital bed (left) and you have to agree he is looking radiant and not a day older than 60.”

Saira, we hear, has eaten a full meal for the first time today since her husband fell

ill.

But the family has been dismayed by false rumours surrounding his health.

Says a close friend of the family, “Even some responsible sections of the film industry, who should know better, spread wrong and damaging information on him. Allah Dilip Saab ko lambi umar den.”

The 90-year-old actor was admitted to Lilavati hospital in Bandra on September 15, a western Mumbai suburb, and is still in the ICU.
