It was in a Barry John play, Baghdad Ka Ghulam, that someone from Dibakar Banerjee's team spotted her. She was asked to audition for the role of Dolly.
"It was a great experience working with Dibakar." she says. "I had a very colourful character. She is loud, foul-mouthed and angry. I had a great time."
Then, Richa adds, with a smile, "I bought my first car with the money I made from Oye Lucky!."
Richa hopes to do more films now, even though theatre and dance remain her passion. "I have to pay rent, put fuel in my car and eat good food. All that needs money and movies give you money," she reasons. "I hope people will know me as a good actress five years from now."
