Heath Ledger, we miss you
Ledger passed away while still working on Gilliam's film, and while the visionary director first thought the project would have to be shelved, he realised that the story -- which involves travelling through parallel universes -- could be tweaked to allow for various versions of Heath.
Having already shot all the bits which feature Ledger's character in the 'real world,' Gilliam then set about recruiting other actors to play Heath's parts in the parallel worlds.
The actors who stepped up to fill young Heath's shoes? Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. Just goes to show how much Hollywood respects the young actor.
As do we. Heath Ledger, may that silver screen in the sky be big enough for you.
