'Kaakha Kaakha is very important for Jyothika and me'

What kind of preparation did you do for the short term memory loss part?

Murugadoss had narrated the script to a neurosurgeon, and asked for his expert opinion. We wanted to know what a patient goes through before and after a surgery -- how he touches an object, how he sits on a chair, how he thinks...

I also saw the video clippings of the patients, who underwent physiotherapy. That helped me to know how they walk, move their hands, their body language...

I added some roughness to the character because he was chasing people and running all the time.

Did Aamir call you after he watched the Tamil film?

Yes, he did. He said, 'I don't know whether I can do as good as you. I don't want to spoil the film.' I'm not sure if he was pulling my leg. He also kept saying that my performance came to his mind, and he had to keep pushing those images away. He said that he liked the way I performed in the film. 'I want to make it in Hindi and act in it,' he said. That was a big honour. It is ironical that my inspiration for Sanjay Ramaswamy was Aamir in Dil Chahta Hai.
