'TN 07 AL4777 is very watchable'

You recently won a couple of awards for your performance as Kriba in Anjathe.

One was the best newcomer MGR-Sivaji award which I won from a list of 23 and the other is for the best supporting actor, the Bravo award, for the same role.

How did you prepare for the Kriba's role?

There were two other well known actors -- Narein and Prasanna while I was just a newcomer in the film. I knew I had to give a strong performance to get noticed.

When we started shooting, the only thought I had was to be on par with them as I didn't want them to feel that a newcomer spoiled the film. My character Kriba was that of a man who turns bad from a very good person.

Are you nervous now that TN 07 AL4777 is releasing on the 20th?

I am not at all nervous because we are confident that we have made a good film. I don't know whether it will be a hit or not but I know it's a very watchable movie.

What are your next projects?

I am doing a romantic comedy for Real Images. It is being directed by Nandini, an associate of Priya V. The heroine is Roopa Manajri, a model from Bangalore. I have another film, Kathirvel, a full on action film.

Have you at any point in your career as an actor regretted leaving your profession as a doctor?

No, never. It was my childhood dream to become an actor. It was the dream of my parents to make me a doctor. I am into acting because it is my passion. So, I will never regret it.
