Critics in America and the UK have seldom been kind to Ash, and the new Pink Panther confirmed their low opinion of her. LA Times wrote she is 'known as much for her beauty as her acting chops.'
'Aishwarya Rai doesn't appear to know what film she's in. The Indian superstar... plays a criminologist who constantly looks like she's wandered in from one of Rai's L'Oreal ads. Her function here is window dressing,' wrote The Boston Globe.
The movie opens in several European countries and in South America in the next few weeks. Unless it does very well in those countries, it may find it difficult to recoup the investment. And who knows if there will be another Pink Panther -- and perhaps a role for Ash in it?
