'The movie is not preachy'
Deol conceived of the movie himself, flirting with the idea of remaking the movie in a modern setting the day he saw Sanjay Leela Bansali's Devdas in 2002.
Growing up in Mumbai, Deol admits he saw drug addiction among high school students.
"The young experiment with drugs. That is nothing new. It is already there," said Deol. "But the movie is not preachy. It does not say drugs are bad. It just exposes the reality."
