Director Chandra Shekhar Srivastava is an expert in photography by working with top technicians like Dinesh Babu, P K H Doss, etc. He has also assisted directors like David and B C Patil in a few films. So his Kannada debut titled Patre Loves Padma was keenly awaited. Plus, the posters and promos of the film were pretty exciting too. Alas! If the film was as good as the promos!

Patre Loves Padma moves at snail's pace throughout that can put anyone to sleep. Only the climax comes to life and that is due to Arjun's background music. The film has one of the weakest scripts of the year so far. It is haphazard and brings to the screen some of most unbelievable situations that could only be described as utterly laughable.

Only music director Arjun and cameraman Cnetech Soori have done a good job in the film. Newcomer Ajith too has done his job perfectly. The heroines and the veteran artists Lokanath, Ramesh Bhat and Girija Lokesh are okay.

Simply put, the film is a big disappointment.
