If Kishore Kumar had Musafir hoon yaaron (Parichay), Asha Bhosle beamed with Bechara dil kya kare. I always found both the songs identical in tone -- philosophical, contemplating, earthy and so very Gulzar. As it so happens, the poetic filmmaker is at the helm of these films while R D Burman scores the soundtrack. I love how fluently Asha courses about the highs and lows of its warm notes, akin to a running stream.
