Where did you meet Amitabh Bachchan?
I was working on a song at Vishal-Shekhar's studio when Amitabh Bachchan came in for some work relating to a song in Alladin. I was then introduced to him. At his insistence, I had to sing a few songs. He appreciated the Mysore se aayee song very much. When Abhishek and Aishwarya came to pick Amitabh sir, I had to sing again.
Did you expect the album to be such a huge success?
Frankly, I never expected such a huge response. Though I was famous here because of my first album and the live performances all around the state, this type of euphoria and appreciation was unexpected.
When we finished work on this album, all of us including the technical team were extremely satisfied. We felt we had infused variety in the composition.
The songs created a sensation when it was first played on the radio. Requests from music lovers poured in. I had initially thought the music would appeal only to the younger generation, but to my pleasant surprise, I found that music lovers belonging to all age groups have liked the album.
