Raj Kapoor was born in pre-independent India Peshawar (now in Pakistan), and always had a soft corner for his hometown. He always wanted to make a film on the friendship between India-Pakistan, and so made, Heena.

Pakistani girl Zeba Bakhtiyar made her debut here. Unfortunately, he died before Heena could be completed, and his son Randhir Kapoor took over.
