Varsha -- referred to condescendingly as 'beauty parlour' in the film -- is the no-nonsense wife of Prakash. It's a frighteningly powerful performance from Khalsekar, who plays the tough but realistic role demanding both a devoted wife and eager mother angle as well as one of a gritty bullsh*t-spotter and scrappy fighter.

She is, in turns, firm, tender, violent, chaotic, normal and frenzied. The actress gives it her all, underplaying and hitting high drama almost in unison, and this is one acting job to applaud.
