The wedding was officially fixed for February 18 at a temple in Brahmavar. But pressure from his fans made Ganesh change his mind and advance the wedding date.
"Many of my female fans started telephoning my family, friends and me, and threatened to end their lives," Ganesh said. "They even called director Nagashekhar and producer K Manju who are making my next film, Aramane. The pressure was unbearable for my parents, who are still living in our ancestral house in Adakamaranahalli village. They told me that I should marry immediately, as they feared something may happen to stop the wedding.
"Now, I am married to Shilpa. I want my friends and well wishers to forgive me for this sudden decision," Ganesh said. He plans to have a big reception in Bangalore shortly and invite people from the film industry.
