Sivaji (2007)
'Chumma adhirudalla!' (Doesn't it just shake you up?)
Sivaji raised expectations because it was directed by ace filmmaker Shankar, had music by the brilliant A R Rahman, and of course, starred Rajni. But after Chandramukhi, the makers realised that too many one-liners spoilt the broth.
In Sivaji, Rajni played a software professional from the United States, who returns to India to build schools and colleges. He was happy to relinquish some screen-space to Vivek -- but still managed to retain a couple of lines for himself.
This one, not as spicy as his earlier dialogues, seemed to be a return to the Rajni of yore, and his fans welcomed them with all their heart.
