Best supporting actress: Lakshmi Gopalaswamy for her role in Thaniye
Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, a trained classical dancer, made her debut in Arayannangalude Veedu, which earned her, her first state award.
Her performance as a nurse taking care of a lonely old man in Thaniye and as a woman torn between Pakistan and India in Paradesi, were both excellent.
