Planet of the Apes (1968)
This film made Heston a fan of the sci-fi audience. Heston starred as one of four astronauts who crash landed on a planet ruled by apes.
One line of Heston's from the movie -- 'Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape' -- was voted the 66th best movie line of all time by the American Film Institute.
Directed by Franklin Schaffner, the film spawned a remake in 2001 by Tim Burton.
