India's Oscar entry in this decade

Eklavya (2007)

Vidhu Vinod Chopra is finally happy. Eklavya-The Royal Guard, though rejected by the public, finally outdid films like Chak De! India, Gandhi My Father and Dharam. The controversies followed soon after.

Veteran film producer and director Pahlaj Nihalani said, 'If this is the taste of the jury, it is better they leave the industry. Eklavya does not deserve an Oscar entry. This is a clear case of partiality. The selection has been done under the influence of certain people, which is shameful.'

It is only a day since the decision was made; expect more controversies to follow.
