Prashant went through the evening with the dazed look of someone who was yet to come to terms with what had happened to him. His parents were in tears from the moment their son was crowned; they hugged the judges and draped white shawls on each of them, they shook hands with everyone in sight, and the more they were felicitated, the more they cried.
It will be a while before the reality of it all sinks in -- but in the interim, the two youngsters seem determined that a relationship they have forged on the anvil of incredibly tense competition will not end with the conclusion of the 2007 edition of Indian Idol.
