The two lads had, especially in the final rounds, captured the public imagination to such an extent that even though Amit lost, he was lionized just as much as if he had won.
Javed Akthar, one of the judges, took him aside while Prashant was basking in the applause, and spoke to him earnestly about concentrating on his career.
'I am always there for you,' Javedsaab told Amit. 'If you ever have a program in Shillong, or anywhere else, call me and I will always come for you.'
