I really felt sad for Prabhakar because he had to go through so much in life. The whole film was too emotional for me. I used to be so disheartened by the evening that I couldn't even talk properly to my mom. She was very worried for me during those days. The way I spoke, the way I behaved with people was not normal. I didn't attend any phone calls, didn't check my mail; I was on a different trip in those days.

You said the role gave you a lot of pain but did it give you satisfaction as a creative person? A lot. I thank the Almighty for giving me such a role so early in my career.

What was the best compliment you got for the film?

When people elevate me to the level of Kamal Haasan and Vikram. I couldn't believe it myself. Honestly I didn't work to get such compliments; I did the film to satisfy myself. It is such a lovely encouragement for me after what I had gone through emotionally! This will encourage me to do better roles in future.
