'There were some people who really tried to malign me'
Vishal Singh, who plays Dev, was Kanchi's uncle in Ek Ladki Anjani Si. Now they will be seen as a couple in this soap.
Asked why she quit Ek Ladki Anjaani Si when it was doing well, Kanchi says, "There were some people who really tried to malign me. I am a professional, I didn't want to work under pressure and so I left the show with mutual consent.
"After I stopped working," she adds, "I really wanted to take a break for two-three months. After that I did a few commercials and was busy with that. When they approached me for this show I was very happy because Suhana is a strong character and I always wanted to work with this channel."
