Though this was a remake of the Hindi blockbuster Don, Rajni took it to a completely different level with his style, mannerisms and spitfire dialogue delivery.
He also impressed upon producers that they can never fail if they bank on him. Actor-Producer Balaji was the first to cash in. Out came a steady steam of masala flicks and buried whatever was left of Rajni the actor. From hereon, it was to be all be about Rajni the star. Forever.
