You have been acting only in commercial films. How did this offer to act in an Adoor Gopalakrishnan film happen?
I am extremely fortunate to get a chance to act in a film by Adoor sir. This offer makes me feel that there is a God above. It is all because of Him that this film happened.
As a child I missed the chance to act in Adoor Sir's Kathapurushan. because my picture was submitted too late.
As I grew up, I felt I didn't have the right to even dream about acting in his films. However, what gave me confidence was the offer to act in Santosh Sivan's film Ananthabhadram. After that, I told myself, yes, now I can dream of bigger things.
When Santosh Ettan told me Mani Ratnam saw Ananthabhadram and appreciated me, it was equivalent to Mani Ratnam asking me to act in his film.
When I came to know that Kuku chechi (Kuku Parameswaran, costume designer of Adoor Gopalakrishnan's film) was going to meet Adoor sir, I told her to please tell him that I had sent my photo for Kathapurushan and to please remember me when he casts for his new film.
