The British singer's rendition of Candle in the Wind, specially composed for Princess Diana's funeral, became the fastest selling single of all times, chalking 55 million pounds for a memorial fund in honour of the princess. It sold 30 million copies worldwide and won him a Grammy.

He performed it for the second time at the memorial concert on July 1.
