Rekha, Madhuri Dixit, Manisha Koirala and Mahima Chaudhary essayed the plight of women in different strata of society in Rajkumar Santoshi's hard-hitting Lajja. While Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Ajay Devgan played the male lead to perfection.

Even with the presence of so many actors, Santoshi pitched in Urmila Matondkar and Sonali Bendre for an item number each.

Lajja met with mixed responses in paper and paisa. That, however, didn't deter the Ghayal director from directing another multistarrer.

For his ambitious cop thriller Khakee, he signed on Amitabh Bahchan, Jaya Prada, Ajay Devgan, Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai and Tusshar Kapoor and Lara Dutta (in a special appearance).

Cool line-up of stars, compelling performances and catchy music, Khakee made quite an impression.
