Meet the cast of Traffic Signal

This is the first time that Madhur's film has a male protagonist Silsila, played by Kunal Khemu. Most of his earlier films like Chandni Bar, Satta and Page 3 had female protagonists.

"I play this boy next door who has grown up on the streets. Later, I become a leader among the beggars and collect money from them. I convinced them that there is nothing wrong with begging and that by receiving alms we are helping people wash away their sins," the actor said.

When Neetu's character sets up shop in his area to sell her clothes, the two get into an argument. But their antagonism inevitably leads to love.

The actor recalled spending a lot of time studying real beggars. "Madhur took me to Dharavi, and various traffic signals across Mumbai -- Andheri, Kurla and Prabhadevi -- where we spent a lot of time studying people," Kunal added.
