Neetu Chandra, who earlier appeared in Priyadarshan's Garam Masala, plays a Gujarati girl who comes to Mumbai to make a living. She sells pieces of embroidery on the streets.
The actress recalled meeting women selling embroidery in real life, and that gave her an insight into their lives.
"I met some women making embroidery in (Asia's largest slum) Dharavi. They were so hard working," Neetu recalled.
"Madhur believes in bringing realism to the character and insisted that we observe their body language and their interaction with customers. This really helped me later while performing," Neetu said.
Sporting minimal make-up, the actress is seen wearing traditional Gujarati chaniya cholis in the film.
