More reality shows thriving on SMS madness
Try thinking of any of these varied 'talents' and demographics -- kids, singers, dancers, actors, item girls, mothers, mamajis -- and push them onto a reality show platform to find the next big -- singer, item girl, dancer, beauty queen, general layabout.
And you'll find some bizarre combination of the very same competition on some television channel, prime time, promoted with much aplomb, with three or more vaguely put together judges, in a show named after some hit song.
The charade is inevitable and obvious: a judge will get upset, another will champion some loser's cause, the nation will get caught up as two smalltown boys of very varied backgrounds will compete for the big prize, the lesser talented one will win, and then reams of newsprint will be spent controversially decrying all these silly competitions. Until the next one comes around, that is.
