Banoo is the story of a submissive, illiterate Vidya who finds herself helpless when she enters the rich Thakur household. To add to it, she encounters hostility from her sisters-in-law.

The serial shows how Vidya stands tall in daunting circumstances, her struggle to rise above the obstacles and be accepted as the bride of the Thakur household.
