Sanju, you had a tumultuous past. When you look back on those days, do you have any messages for those who are currently going through a similar stage?
I will only say that events and happenings keep occurring in an individual's life. But that does not mean that you should resort to alcohol or drugs to escape. It actually amounts to escaping life and not facing the problems. And I don't blame these kids, when I look at them I can't fathom what problems they have gone through. But I am kinda proud of them, that now they are on the path of recovery.
Whenever you get to interact with young college kids who are also addicts, how do you introduce yourself to them?
Hi, I am Sanjay Dutt, an alcoholic and drug addict (guffaws).
But it's not only about the kids of a certain age. When I was shown photographs of children under Support, it actually touched my heart. When I see kids 4-5 years of age, on the streets under the influence of drugs, it saddens me. There should be support pouring out for them from various quarters, from the people of this country. We have to help them.
