When first released in 1958, this film starring Sivaji Ganesan and Padmini was a blockbuster. It was directed by P Praksh Rao, father of legendary Telugu filmmaker Raghavendra Rao. The story was adapted from Alexander Dumas' The Man In The Iron Mask.
